Similar Simile Scenery

Jun 16, 2016

Let's play with words and pictures.  I'm sure you have noticed my title:

Similar = the two pictures above, they are similar.  It seems like they are pictures of the same place that were taken from two different viewpoints.  Are they similar?  Yes, but not the same.

They resemble each other, they are identical.

Identical Twins look very much the same but Fraternal Twins do not look the same.

Simile = is a figure of speech in which two different things are compared as if they were the same

Her laughter sounds like the gentle waves of the sea.

The knowledge contained in this book is as vast as that lake.

Scenery = is the general appearance of a place.  It makes a landscape.

The mountain ranges that surround the water make up a very beautiful scenery.

Question:  Where were the pictures above taken?

The first picture was taken from the Island of Honshu in Japan. Kurobe Dam

The second one was taken from an Island in the Philippines.  Palawan

There, my trivia SSS (not Social Security System but an acronym I made.  Acronym is a word formed from the first component like letters of a phrase or verb, e.g. PAL = Philippine Airlines, JAL=Japan Airlines.)

This is an example of one of my lessons, we can talk about a certain topic and learn other things connected with it while you practice on the pronunciation of old and new vocabularies, intonation, and grammar.  It will be exciting!

Enjoy the beautiful scenery around you.

Kurobe dam (one of the largest dam in the world and is the tallest in Japan) is near the beautiful mountain of Tateyama.  (Posing and touching the snow on a summer month of August)
