１５年ほど前からでしょうか、

少しでもゴミを減らせるならとリサイクルを始めました。

ハワイのゴミ事情は日本と少し違い、ハワイ州環境省から

各家に３種類（３色）のゴミ箱が託され、曜日に合わせてゴミ収集車が

それらを回収してくれます。

青いゴミ箱はペットボトル、アルミ缶、段ボールなどリサイクル出来る物。

グリーンのゴミ箱は落ち葉、枝、芝などの植物専用。

そして黒いゴミ箱は何でもオッケー。

基本みんなルールを守りますが、分別が強制ではないので

分別が面倒な人は、全てのゴミを黒いゴミ箱に入れます。

ペットボトル、瓶、アルミ缶などの飲み物は、

購入時、それぞれ一つにつき5セントのリサイクル費を

事前に徴収されます

そして飲み終えたペットボトル、瓶、アルミ缶などを

リサイクルセンターに持っていくと、購入時に徴収された

５セントを回収出来るシステムです

昨日、僕は写真のアルミ缶とペットボトルをリサイクルしましたが

１０ドル６４セント貰えたので、２００個ちょっとを

リサイクルした事になります。

少し面倒だし、微力ですが、自分が地球の為に何かしてるという

満足感で続いてるリサイクル。続けれる限りは続けたいと思います。

２０２３年もあと少し、２０２４年もよろしくお願いします。

Here in Hawaii , trash is separated by colored trash bins provided by the city  . The blue trash bin is for recyclable items such as cardboard, plastic bottles , aluminum cans , and glass bottles. The green trash bin is for greens (grass, leaves, tree branches) and the black trash bin is for everything  else

When you buy a beverage, you will automatically get charged 5 cents recycle fee per item. When you recycle them, you get your 5 cents back .Yesterday I recycled cans and plastic bottle  shown in the picture below and the pay out was $10.64 which means I must have recycled over 200 cans and bottles .

 I’ve been recycling for about 15years now in  hope of reducing trash on the islands and planet earth. Hope to keep this routine up as long as I can.
